Project overview.

  • Case study type: Workspace
  • Activity: Aerospace Design and Engineering

Adient Aerospace, which has its headquarters in Washington, designs and produces luxury seating and furniture for airlines in Business and Economy Class.

The world-leading company was attracted to South Wales due to the area’s strong aerospace industry which employs around 23,000, and has correspondingly high levels of engineering and design skills in the workforce.

Our Ebbw Vale Innovation Centre has proved to be the perfect home for their Welsh studio, and we have been delighted to work closely with them offering flexible solutions to their needs, adjusting the workspace as their presence at the Centre increased. Since they arrived Adient Aerospace has quadrupled its office and workshop space and grown the team to 24.

"We have increased our space here four-fold since we arrived, and now have a team of 24 here in five offices and a workshop, and this skilled team works on design and development of furniture and seating. UKSE has been very flexible and supportive, working with us to adapt to our needs, and this has helped enormously."
Phil Owens, Adient Aerospace

How we did it.

Adient Aerospace is an innovative, international company working in a fast-changing industry, and so has exacting criteria for its workspace. As the company expanded its presence at the Innovation Centre, we worked closely with them to ensure we offered the most flexible solutions possible by adapting our facilities to their changing needs.

The results.

Expansion and growth

The flexibility and adaptability of the Innovation Centre has given the company the ability to develop its studio in a high-tech, business environment.

Jobs and skills

Choosing the Innovation Centre as their base gave Adient Aerospace access to a skilled pool of engineers in South Wales and beyond.

Professional Community

As one of our tenants, the studio benefits from being part of the dynamic business community based in the Innovation Centre.
