A new specialist consultancy has chosen Sheffield as the base for its launch, supporting construction businesses to navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.

Barnett Analytics has taken space at the UKSE Innovation Centre, establishing its headquarters in the city as it begins working with contractors across the sector.

The start-up consultancy focuses on helping construction businesses understand and implement evolving compliance requirements, particularly in response to the Building Safety Act 2022.

Barnett Analytics works closely with contractors to simplify these changes, providing practical, structured guidance to ensure organisations are aligned with new and emerging regulations. Its services include compliance gap analysis, business health checks and the development of clear project management frameworks that support robust governance and accountability.

As a newly established business, the UKSE Innovation Centre represents Barnett Analytics’ headquarters and first operational base. The decision to locate in Sheffield was both strategic and personal, reflecting the city’s growth in infrastructure and higher-risk building development, as well as its strong links to the construction and engineering sectors.

The company has taken a 209 sq. ft office within the Innovation Centre, benefiting from its central location, strong transport links and proximity to both universities, which provide access to talent and innovation within the built environment sector, as well as its 24-hour access, serviced reception, high-speed broadband and CCTV operations.

The supportive environment and collaborative business community at the Innovation Centre were also key factors in the decision, offering valuable networking opportunities and access to wider business support as the company grows.

Leah Barnett, Managing Director at Barnett Analytics, said: “Sheffield provides the ideal environment to launch and grow our business, combining strong sector opportunities with a collaborative and supportive community.

“As the regulatory landscape continues to evolve, we’re focused on helping our clients navigate these changes with clarity and confidence.”

Amber Winfield, Social Media and Workspace Coordinator at UKSE, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Barnett Analytics to the Innovation Centre.

“Their work addresses a critical need within the construction sector, and it’s great to see a new business choosing Sheffield as the base for its growth.

“We look forward to supporting them as they develop and expand.”
