The UKSE Innovation Centre in Sheffield has welcomed the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Enterprise Hub as the latest organisation to establish a presence within the city-centre business community.

The Royal Academy of Engineering is the UK’s national academy for engineering, bringing together leading engineers from industry, academia and the public sector to advance engineering excellence, support innovation and inspire future talent.

Its Enterprise Hub programme supports engineering-led start-ups, scale-ups and spin-outs across the UK through tailored mentoring, funding, technical guidance and access to a national network of industry experts and entrepreneurs.

The move into Sheffield represents a strategic expansion of the Academy’s national footprint, strengthening its ability to engage with businesses, innovators and entrepreneurs across South Yorkshire and the wider region.

Sheffield was selected due to its strong innovation ecosystem, growing base of ambitious SMEs and scale-ups, and its close collaboration between industry, academia and research institutions.

The city’s expertise in advanced manufacturing, digital innovation and net zero technologies closely aligns with the Academy’s focus areas.

In addition to providing a regional base, the Academy intends to use the Innovation Centre to host workshops, collaborative sessions and events designed to support businesses and strengthen Sheffield’s wider innovation ecosystem.
