International architecture firm establishes UK presence at Sheffield UKSE Innovation Centre.
ATI Architects, a UAE-based practice with more than 40 years of experience, has taken space at the UKSE Innovation Centre as it looks to build its presence across the UK.
Founded in 1980, ATI Architects has grown into a multi-disciplinary organisation employing more than 150 people and delivering over 700 projects worldwide. The business has evolved from a traditional architectural practice into a fully integrated development partner, supporting clients across the entire project lifecycle, from land sourcing and feasibility studies through to design, delivery and even marketing and sales via its specialist subsidiaries.
Headquartered in Dubai, with an established presence in Sharjah and a growing office in Cairo, the move into Sheffield represents the company’s first base in the UK. The new office will support ATI’s international operations while also creating opportunities to collaborate with UK-based partners and explore regional investment prospects.
Sheffield offers access to a strong pipeline of graduate talent from its two universities, as well as a well-established professional network and a growing reputation for innovation across sectors.
ATI Architects works with a diverse client base, including developers, local authorities, global organisations and private investors. Its portfolio spans multiple sectors such as residential, commercial, education, hospitality, health and science, reflecting its broad expertise and global reach.
The company has taken a 220 sq ft office within the UKSE Innovation Centre, benefiting from its central location and close links to the University campus and city centre, as well as its 24-hour access, serviced reception, high-speed broadband and CCTV operations. The move will allow the team to establish a foothold in the region while continuing to support projects across the Middle East.
Ian McSweeney, Director at ATI Architects, said: “Sheffield is a city I have a strong personal connection to, but it also presents a compelling business case.
“The quality of talent, the strength of the professional network and the opportunities for collaboration make it an ideal location for our first UK office.
“We’re excited to build relationships here and to connect our international work with opportunities across the region.”
Amber Winfield, Social Media and Workspace Coordinator at UKSE, said: “We’re delighted to welcome ATI Architects to the Innovation Centre.
“Their decision to establish a presence in Sheffield highlights the city’s growing reputation as a hub for talent and innovation, and we look forward to supporting their continued growth as they build their UK operations.”
