One of Wales’ fastest growing businesses, Camilleri Construction, has moved to new premises in the recently refurbished Cardiff Bay Business Centre.

Camilleri is a Western Mail Fast Growth 50 company, and on the Welsh Government’s Accelerated Growth Programme. Turnover this year is £4 million, and is predicted to rise to £10 million in three years, when staff are expected to have doubled to 50.

Director Rob Camilleri explained the move to CBBC, which is owned and run by Tata Steel subsidiary UK Steel Enterprise.

“CBBC has recently been refurbished and we are very proud to bring clients here. They are impressed with the quality of the fit out here and the facilities we have. It reinforces our brand identity.”

Mr Camilleri also stressed the importance of the location. “There is excellent access here and links to the rest of Wales and main routes to the rest of the UK.”

The company has taken office space in Forgeside House, as well as workshop accommodation.

“It is very convenient to have the two spaces close to one another within CBBC. This works very well for the business.”

Camilleri Construction began as a small family business in 1985. In 2012, Robert Camilleri took over and changed the business model from supplying building materials, to working directly with insurance companies. The move paid off, with the business growing rapidly from three employees to one of Wales fastest growing enterprises.

UK Steel Enterprise has spent £1 million on a major revamp of Cardiff Bay Business Centre upgrading accommodation and facilities.

UKSE Manager in Wales, Glyn Thomas commented: “CBBC is very popular as we offer a variety of spaces to suit a range of requirements. Transport links and parking are both excellent and service to tenants is of the highest order.

“We are delighted to welcome Camilleri here and wish them every success as they continue to grow.”
