British Stainless Steel Association moves to Innovation Centre.
British Stainless Steel Association (BSSA) has relocated its HQ to UKSE’s Innovation Centre in Sheffield city centre.
The Association has chosen the site because of its facilities and amenities, which include meeting and seminar rooms which will allow the team to carry out membership meetings, as well as education and training sessions.
This, alongside its excellent transport links being just a three-minute walk from West Street and a short walk to Sheffield Train Station means the site is ’ideally situated’ for the organisation’s evolving needs.
The move comes after several years at BSSA’s former premises outside the city centre which were no longer suitable to the team’s changing needs and demand for flexibility.
The Innovation Centre is already home to a range of technology and bioscience companies, some of which are leaders in their field. There are currently 4 units still available which vary in size.
BSSA work to promote and develop the use of Stainless Steels across the UK and Ireland in many industries including manufacturing and construction, as well as providing technical advice, training, and education in all aspects of using stainless steels.
Rob Cooper, Managing Director from BSSA commented: “This is an exciting time for us at BSSA and the take up of our new headquarters reflects our desire to be flexible and adaptive in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
“We think it’s really important to have a base for our staff and members to be able to visit and use when needed as well as having the flexibility to be able to work from home when more appropriate.
“The team at UKSE have been incredibly flexible in providing us with an opportunity which suited our needs. We can now focus the next 12 months in strengthening our service offering to our members.”
Alan Stanley, Regional Executive at UKSE added: “As Sheffield is renowned for its engineering and manufacturing excellence its fantastic to see BSSA commit to the Innovation Centre and add to the overall strong community we have at the site.
“Like many others, we’ve taken appropriate steps to reduce the risk of virus transmission, whilst allowing tenants and their staff to continue to access the centre on a 24/7 basis.”
UKSE also provides loan and equity finance of up to £1m to existing companies which are growing, particularly those creating jobs – for further information please contact the team on 0114 224 2424.
