UKSE backs High Green Villa U9s for second year as young Sheffield team builds on cup-winning success.
A young Sheffield football team is celebrating new sponsorship from UKSE, as the business investment company continues its support for grassroots sport and community development in South Yorkshire.
UKSE has provided a £500 community support grant to High Green Villa Football Club’s Under 9s team for the 2025/26 season. The funding will cover the cost of new match kit tracksuit tops for eight players, helping ensure the squad continues to look and feel like a team as they build on an impressive run of recent achievements.
Last season, the team enjoyed a standout year, winning three cups, earning promotion to a higher division, and travelling to Berlin in June to compete in (and win) an international youth tournament. Their hard work, sportsmanship and teamwork have made them a real source of pride for the local community.
High Green Villa coach Darran Gregory said the continued support from UKSE has made a huge difference to the club and its young players: “It’s brilliant to have UKSE supporting us again this season.
“The kids work so hard in training and matches, and having new kit and equipment really adds to their confidence and sense of unity.”
Amber Winfield, Social Media and Workspace Coordinator at UKSE, added: “We’re delighted to be supporting High Green Villa for a second year running.
“Their achievements over the past two seasons have been fantastic, and it’s inspiring to see how the club helps young people learn valuable life skills while staying active and having fun.
“At UKSE, we’re passionate about investing in communities and helping the next generation thrive.”
This support forms part of UKSE’s ongoing commitment to community development in Sheffield and beyond. As the organisation marks its 50th anniversary in 2025, it continues to invest in creating brighter futures, backing local projects, initiatives, and young people who make a difference in their communities.
UKSE provides equity investment and loans of up to £1.5m to existing growing businesses, particularly those creating jobs. For further information, please contact the team on 0114 2700 933.
