Securexit celebrates exceptional first year following UKSE investment.
A Stoke-on-Trent manufacturer of bespoke steel and fire safety doors has grown its business from start-up to success, one year on from securing equity investment from UKSE.
Securexit Ltd, based on the Newstead Industrial Estate in Stoke‑on‑Trent, secured a six‑figure equity investment and additional loan finance from UKSE to launch the business in September 2025. Since then, the company has expanded rapidly, growing to more than 30 employees and on track to achieve £3 million in turnover for the 2026 financial year.
The announcement comes ahead of Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day (Sep 24), which celebrates the contribution of manufacturers to the UK economy and highlights the range of career opportunities on offer.
The business manufactures bespoke steel fire and safety external doors for clients across the retail, industrial, education and healthcare sectors. Over the past 12 months, it has continued to invest in new equipment and strengthened its commercial capabilities by establishing a dedicated sales team, with plans to recruit additional internal sales colleagues later this year.
Looking ahead, Securexit plans to invest further in product testing and third-party certification against recognised security and fire-performance standards, including PAS 24, LPS 1175 and BS EN 1634-1. The company is also working towards certification to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 to enhance compliance standards and support the company’s next phase of growth.
The business has also outlined an ambitious five‑year plan, aiming to grow revenue to £10 million through continued investment, product innovation, and strategic expansion.
Founded by steel door industry veteran David Lycett, Securexit established its 20,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Stoke-on-Trent in September 2025, with production commencing just two months later.
Securexit’s managing director, David Lycett, said: “The past year has been transformational for Securexit. The investment and support from UKSE have been invaluable and has enabled us to accelerate our growth, expand our team, and strengthen our market position.
“We’re incredibly proud to be manufacturing in Stoke-on-Trent. It’s an area that has gone through a lot of changes in recent years and Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day shines a spotlight on the importance of manufacturing to communities and the wider economy.
“As the company enters its second year, it remains focused on sustainable growth, generating employment opportunities for the region and delivering high‑performance security products to customers across the UK.”
UKSE regional manager Steve Grice added: “From day one, Securexit had a clear vision for growth, and it’s been fantastic to see that vision translate into real results so quickly.
“Their investment in people, and strong financial outlook show a business with long‑term potential. UKSE is proud to support David and the team as they move into their next phase of development.”
