Design Air has lift off thanks to UKSE.
A Scottish compressed air distributor has embarked on major expansion plans, following support from UKSE.
Design Air Scotland (DAS) specialises in the distribution, instillation and servicing of compressed air equipment, and has been in the industry for over 15 years. The firm has received a six-figure equity package from UKSE which will allow them to initially expand their workforce by 50%.
The funding has allowed DAS’s senior management team to carry out a management buy in (MBI) which gives them a majority share of the business.
Through this expansion, the company has set its sights on continued growth by doubling turnover within the next five years.
DAS has a current turnover of £1 million, operating in a UK market worth over £100 million. The firm has a very strong trading relationship with Atlas Copco, a Swedish company that manufactures industrial equipment.
Barry Irvine, Operations Director at Design Air Scotland, said: “We are very excited to be embarking on our expansion plans in 2020. This deal is a fantastic investment opportunity for our senior management team and also allows us to support a young and enthusiastic team who want to pursue their careers in this industry.
“The financial support from UKSE has made this deal possible, and I’m extremely grateful to them for helping facilitate the growth of our business.”
Terry Quinn, regional executive at UKSE said: “The compressed air market is experiencing fantastic growth at the moment and we are very pleased to have helped Design Air Scotland with their expansion.
“We are very impressed with the ambition the team possess and we are looking forward to seeing what the future holds for them.”
